S * N * O * W

As most of you know I do not like snow.  In case you haven't noticed it is a 4-letter word.  The kids, however, love it and have had a blast playing in it today.  It started snowing yesterday around 7:00 pm and changed over to sleet about sometime during the night.  It was still lightly sleeting at 2:00 this afternoon.

Halloween 2009

First, carve a Jack-o-Lantern.

This was the first year Davis and Rebecca did most of it alone. They designed the pattern, gutted the pumpkin and carved the Jack-o-Lantern. They did a fantastic job!

Then, on to Trick-or-Treating. A Diva Witch and Scream?

Nope. Just Rebecca and Davis.

Finally, time to reap the rewards of an evening of hard work.

She scores!

Somebody may have had too much candy already!

Davis' Birthday

Davis celebrated his 10th birthday with a few friends. We took the boys to a RailHawks Soccer game and they spent the night. Not a lot of sleeping, but a whole lot of fun!
Shhhhh....Don't tell Davis there is bow on his head.

OK. Who told?

Camping - August 1, 2009

David and one of our neighbors took the kids camping this weekend at Hanging Rock, just north of Winston-Salem, NC. They had a wonderful time (despite the rain) and are ready to go back.

David also participated in his 4th recital. Below are shots from

David is such a good sport. The"Dad's Production" is always
a huge hit with the crowd and this year was no exception.

2009 Run for the Roses - Downtown Raleigh

Rebecca made her running debut at this year's Run for the Roses. She started training in November and had worked up to running the entire 5K (3.1 miles.) Unfortunately she got a cold a few days before the run and did not do as well as she had hoped. Davis and David were running it for the second year. Both Davis and Rebecca worked really hard for this and we are very proud of their accomplishment!
